Heat Magazine

According to Heat Magazine the National radio station offered Gareth a random slot, that obviously upset him and he decided to leave following 10 years at the station,a source told Heat that 5FM's DJ Fresh who replaced Gareth has been eyeing the Breakfast slot for months now. There's nothing wrong with evolution I personally feel as though 5fm should have opted for another way of kicking him out, like not renewing his contract. Donald_unpredictable

Let us give credit where credit is due. Donald Moatshe, South African musician has thee best music videos, his 2nd album The train of love was a huge success and taken South Africa by storm and he even got a BET nomination alongside Toya deLazy in 2013 representing us as a country,he's back with his 3rd studio album titled 'Black and White'

Now my favourite song from his latest album is 'unpredictable',its video is just unique and not your usual girls, bikinis, beaches and cars type of videos. He always keeps us in suspense regarding the concept of his upcoming videos and he NEVER disappoints, I wish SA artists could take notes from this man. Keep on working hard Donald, the music industry is your oyster.

DJ Fresh to replace Gareth Cliff

State-owned radio station 5FM, has announced the next addition to their line-up.

In a bold move to reinvent the morning offerings, DJ Fresh will take over the morning drive show at 5am on the 5th of May.

In a media statement 5FM’s programming manager Tim Zunckel said there has been much speculation since the announcement of the new arrivals at 5FM as to the time slot of existing DJs.

“DJ Fresh will amplify the essence of music youth culture and entertainment on weekday mornings and will provide a new offering to the South African morning radio landscape,” said Zunckel.

He said the decision to start the show at 5am has been fuelled by feedback from listeners to have a breakfast show that starts their day when they do.

DJ Fresh will be joined by his long standing colleagues Catherine Grenfell (Executive Producer) and Duran Collett (Sport).

Newbies include Carmen Reddy (News) who has extensive TV and radio background and Sol Phenduka (Traffic) who has recently been in the Big Brother Mzansi House and has extensive morning radio experience.

DJ Fresh said he always enjoyed doing morning radio and the move back to AM drive is a great opportunity.

“I am excited about the new additions to my team and guarantee the audience will be part of my journey in every aspect of the show and P.S no prisoners will be taken.”

Zunckel said he was excited about DJ Fresh’s move to the early part of the morning and look forward to offering the audience a varied combination of entertainment to start their day.

“With DJ Fresh leaving the PM drive slot, it creates a great opportunity for Roger Goode to inject some of his crazy antics from 4PM in the afternoon,” said Zunckel.

Roger makes his move to drive time radio as a well-loved, respected DJ in the youth culture space.

Roger has been with 5FM for more than 10 years and will be joined by an energetic and eccentric team. 5FM’s favourite ginger Sias Du Plessis will anchor Sport and Vic Naidoo will be on News. 5FM’s newest addition, Thando Thabethe will be on Traffic.View Full story
