At the time SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago had said: "Ms Bonang Matheba has been given a letter of dismissal on the basis that she had not asked for approval before entering into an agreement [with SuperSport] as stated in her contract with the SABC."
In the recent statement Chief Operations Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng said: “The SABC would like to welcome back Ms. Matheba and accepts her apology.”
Bonang is just as pleased to be back at the SABC.
"I am thrilled to re-engage my long standing relationship with the SABC,” Bonang said.
“The support I have received from the listeners and viewers has been overwhelming, and for that I am grateful.”
Hlaudi added that “Our aim as broadcaster is not to destroy our talent but to nurture and help young people to grow in this challenging industry. We respect their craft and are willing to assist where we can” he said.
